Dunham-Bush invests RM172mil in Negri Sembilan expansion

KUALA LUMPUR: Dunham-Bush Industries Sdn Bhd will invest approximately RM172 million in the first phase of a new manufacturing facility at SPD Tech Valley in Senawang, Negri Sembilan.
The global manufacturer of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) solutions signed a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with SPD Tech Valley Sdn Bhd for approximately 32 acres of industrial land at the industrial park.
The SPA was signed by Dunham-Bush Industries Sdn Bhd managing director Yu Boashuang and Seri Pajam Development Group chief executive officer Ten Wee Seong, who represented SPD Tech Valley, at Park Hyatt, Kuala Lumpur on Aug 28.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim.
Also present were Industry, Technology, Innovation and Digital Affairs state executive councillor Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Invest Negri Sembilan chief executive officer Datuk Najmuddin Sharif Sarimon and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Negri Sembilan director Azizul Hakim Abu Haniffa.
RM172 MILLION EXPANSION
The Phase 1 development is expected to create up to 400 job opportunities, including skilled and technical positions.
Construction is targeted to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2028.
The new facility will strengthen Dunham-Bush's manufacturing capacity for chiller systems and advanced HVAC/R solutions, serving both Malaysian and international markets.
The expansion is also expected to create wider opportunities for local suppliers, engineering services, logistics providers and other supporting industries.
INDUSTRIAL GROWTH
Dunham-Bush's expansion at SPD Tech Valley adds to industrial investment within the Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0) corridor and supports Negri Sembilan's efforts to attract quality investments with greater economic and technological value.
The project also highlights the role of Invest Negri Sembilan, MIDA and relevant government agencies in facilitating investments and supporting companies looking to expand in the state.
Ten said Dunham-Bush's presence would complement the growing industrial ecosystem at SPD Tech Valley.
"We are honoured to welcome Dunham-Bush to SPD Tech Valley. With its longstanding engineering expertise and international presence, the company brings valuable manufacturing capabilities that will complement the industrial ecosystem we are building," he said.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Developed by Seri Pajam Development Group, SPD Tech Valley is a 523-acre smart, managed and sustainable industrial park in Senawang, Negri Sembilan, within the MVV 2.0 development corridor.
The park is Southeast Asia's first LEED Gold-certified industrial park, combining sustainable planning, smart infrastructure and integrated industrial services.
It offers ready-built factories and built-to-suit industrial land, supported by high-capacity utilities and access to Malaysia's national power infrastructure.
Strategically connected to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Port Klang, the North-South Expressway and the Lekas Highway, the park provides manufacturers with access to key logistics gateways and regional markets.
SPD Tech Valley is attracting companies across the semiconductor, electrical and electronics (E&E), manufacturing and new energy sectors, as well as other high-value industries, with several investors progressing with their development plans.
The addition of Dunham-Bush further strengthens the park's growing industrial ecosystem and its position as a strategic manufacturing base for Malaysia and regional markets.
